The Weyburn Children's Program Coordinator is responsible to develop a children's programming strategy for the branch that meets the needs of the community; Coordinate and deliver children's programming and related services; organize and supervise Summer Reading Club at the branch library; assist adults, and the public generally, in using the library and its services; assist children, and the public generally, in the use of library services and computerized information resources; coordinate liason with schools and conduct school visits; coordinate the delivery of literacy services with a focus on family literacy; assist in building community relationships in the promotion of the library's services for children; provide reference services with an emphasis on meeting the information needs of children; circulate library materials, register library patrons and resolve conflicts with patrons; assist in supervising the branch; train branch personnel in their designated tasks; ensure health, safety and cleanliness of the library's environment and resources; receive incoming money, issue receipts and assist in the handling of branch finances; assume the branch duties of the supervisor on a temporary basis as required; assume the duties of the Adult Programmer on a temporary basis as required; other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Qualifications: Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma; experience working with pre-school and elementary school aged children in a learning environment; Technological skills a must; Library experience an asset.
