Be a part of supporting the film and television industry with SMPIA (Saskatchewan Media Production Association). For thirty years, the non-profit organization has provided the industry and its members with promotion, leadership and education. Now, they are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Communications & Membership Coordinator to join its team.
This Entry Level Position is a full-time, salaried position with full benefits.
Roles and Responsibilities
Event planning and coordinating.
Manage multiple social media accounts, as well as website updating.
Compile and edit a weekly e-Newsletter
Track and maintain membership needs including online database, payments, renewals, inquires and outreach.
Write/design various products including: Press Releases, Posters, Invitations & Correspondence.
Research and implement new and interesting ways to promote local achievements to raise the profile and highlight the Saskatchewan industry.
Be the liaison between the organization and members of the local and national media.
Support the Executive Director with day-to-day office and administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess:
University degree or College diploma with Specialization in Communications or Public Relations.
Demonstrated writing and editing skills.
Excellent communications and customer service skills.
Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Photoshop and social media.
The ability to work under a deadline -- independently and as part of a team
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills.
Valid Saskatchewan drivers license.
Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Film Industry will be considered an asset but not required.
This position will require occasional travel as well as some nights and weekend work.
