David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client in the financial services industry to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team.
The Role:

Assist accounting staff relating to the monthly accounting cycle and review assigned tasks / projects for accuracy and deadlines.
Support with financial reporting including monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
Support with ensuring compliance with various government regulatory bodies. Reviewing the Company's GST/PST obligations, filing government regulatory reports and remittances and corresponding with the CRA.
Assist with year-end audit related duties including liaising with the external auditors, preparation of year end working papers, analyses as required, and assistance with reviewing the corporate tax returns for all entities.

Skill Requirements:

Detail-oriented and well organized, highly efficient at meeting critical deadlines
Excellent working knowledge of MS Word and Excel (pivot tables, vlookups etc.) and accounting software programs (Quickbooks, Simply Accounting, AgExpert)
Ability to coordinate with external vendors such as auditors, bankers, CRA etc. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience and Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Commerce / Business Administration in Accounting or Finance
Accounting Designation (CGA, CA, CPA or CMA)
5-7 years of professional accounting experience
Experience with multi company structures in various jurisdictions
Experience with Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A)
Experience with financial modeling and Scenario analysis
GP Dynamics and F9 Reporting software experience (would be beneficial)
Experience with budget analysis, annual comparisons and projections
Experience working through an accounting system conversion (would be beneficial)
