Key Responsibilities
The Technician is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to shop activities as the Technician may be required to perform field work on down buses.
- Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
- Diagnose equipment problems
- CVIP Inspections
- Respond to breakdowns
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
- Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
- Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Requirements
- Journeyman Ticket
- Own hand tools
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- 2 5 years related experience
- Valid Drivers Licence (Class 3 or 2 considered an asset)
- CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset
- Exposure to working on diesel engines
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors)
