Duties consist of 70% educator time in the classroom and 30% Director duties including:
Prepare and implement daily activities that support the development of children;
direct the activities of the children based on their interests; telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, preparing craft materials and demonstrating to children how to use it, give children the opportunity to express their creativity through art, role play, music and physical activity, etc.
attend board meetings and professional development days
plan and organize, as required, activities for school-age children involved in care programs before and after school;
monitor and coordinate Centre staff
office duties including making staff and child schedules, payroll, bill payments, planning and attending staff meetings, keeping supplies stocked, ensuring Centre continues to meet highest standards, etc.
assist children with necessary basic care; be comfortable to help infants and all ages with their needs: snacks, toiletries, personal cleanliness and safety
The successful applicant will:
Possess an Early Childhood Education III certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education of Saskatchewan, or be prepared to obtain through online schooling while working
Be comfortable with the application of a program of activities for groups of children from 6 weeks to 11 years.
Demonstrate skills to create sustainable positive relationships with parents, children and staff.
Provide a favorable criminal record check.
Be certified in First Aid & CPR
Have Food Safety Course or be willing to obtain
Salary: Starting wage of $19.08/hour for ECE 3 applicant (wage varies depending on education/experience)
