Description

Saskatoon Student Child Care Services invites applications for the position of Nutrition Support. We are non-profit organization that operates three child care centres. Our centres serve teen parents and other families with children ages 2 weeks through 5 years.
The nutrition student will work in partnership with our current cooks, child care directors and early childhood educators. The student will be expected to:
1) Evaluate the six week rotating menus currently used in our child care facilities and suggest changes to improve the menus that take into account cultural, health and religious requirements.
2) Determine the nutritional content of each recipes used and calculate the appropriate serving size to ensure children are receiving the required food groups and nutritional variety;
3) Work with our cooks to develop a four week rotating summer menu;
4) Work with the cook and early childhood educators on strategies for encouraging picky eaters;
5) Develop grocery lists for each weekly menu;
Student must be able to work with minimal supervision
Preference will be given to students who have completed a minimum of the 2nd year of their Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Program.
