Saskatchewan Blue Cross, one of Saskatchewans Top 100 Companies, is currently recruiting for a full time Underwriting Coordinator in the Underwriting Department. This is a temporary position (up to 15 months) with the possibility of extension.

JOB FUNCTION
Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, this position provides administrative & technical support to the underwriting team, facilitating the achievement of corporate & departmental goals & objectives. This opportunity will appeal to post-secondary graduates interested in growing & developing their career in the financial field.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
-Provide technical & administrative support for new business quotations, renewals, plan design alternatives & reports
-Responsible for the calculation, analysis & determination of appropriate rates in relation to health & dental benefits for small groups
-Assist team members with the analysis & preparation of quotes & renewals on all group benefits
-Research & compile client data & departmental statistics  
-Maintain & track both medical & group underwriting activities
-Perform other related duties & special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
-Completion of a two year post-secondary Diploma or Certificate with a focus in finance, management or a related field & 1-2 years experience in an office environment
-Knowledge of the insurance industry or benefit products & services would be considered a definite asset
-Strong mathematical & analytical ability
-Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & PowerPoint with the ability to easily learn new software programs
-Must undergo a Reliability Screening & successfully obtain a Reliability Status
-Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
