Description

Manage the direct operation and maintenance of a reputable paving company's asphalt production.  

You will:
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of plant personnel
- Inspect plant unit(s) to assure proper functioning
- Maintain required mixture proportions
- Inspect plant equipment and preventative maintenance
- Requisition all materials and parts
- Prepare reports and maintain records
- Assist in truck loading and unloading


You require:
- considerable knowledge of the operation and maintenance of an asphalt plant and its associate machinery and equipment.
- Understand different mix designs, aggregates, AC oils, and test results
- Construction materials industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Minimum of 5 years prior work experience in supervising production employees in an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt emulsion plant.
- Willingness to travel out-of-town to complete jobs during high season
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude an asset
- Physically able to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy loads in specific situations
- Able to tolerate heights

Weekends off. The plant is operational 5 days a week (Monday - Friday). Only the person needs to visit the plant every Sunday evening to switch on the generators.
