Cando is looking for individuals experienced in working as Locomotive Operators/Switchpersons for an industrial site in Belle Plaine, SK. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.
Working in teams, Locomotive Operators/Switchpersons are responsible for the safety and efficient onsite railcar movements including progressing cars through scales, spotting cars at loading racks, and interchanging cars with other rail providers.
Switching crews will also be responsible for routine minor track maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating switches, snow clearing and locomotive maintenance.
Incumbents will be expected to learn all components of the operation and assist in all roles as trained and required including car mechanical and cleaning.
The site is operational 365 days per year. Switching crews will work a rotating schedule that covers 24/7 operations with shifts being 12 hours in length. Top switching candidates will have CROR qualifications and experience working in an industrial switching environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills along with a passion for safety and customer satisfaction are essential for all positions.
Individuals must be in good physical condition, meet all site security and safety requirements including safety critical medicals, drug and alcohol clearances, and criminal record checks.
