Description

An ECE position is available in the YWCA Downtown Childcare Centre's under the supervision of the Manager and Director of Child Care Services. This position entails working 5 days each week for a total of 35 hours per week. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate programming for toddlers to school age children.

Responsibilities:
-Providing a safe environment for all children
-Programming for children utilizing the Play and Exploration principles
-Be a team player
-Have a positive attitude
-Punctual and dependable

Qualifications:
-Experience working with children and youth;
-Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check;
-Ability to facilitate high quality programs and activities;
-Knowledge and experience in programming for children and youth, swimming, field games, crafts and other summer activities;
-Ability to work in a multicultural setting;
-Ability to create and maintain an effective team environment;
-Must be a student in either secondary or pursuing a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in a related field (social work, education, early childhood, youth care, sociology, human justice, kinesiology etc.);
-Satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector check;
-Valid CPR/First Aid an asset.
