Description

The MLTC Child & Family Services Department (CFS) is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position as a Child Protection/Prevention Worker - Floater.

The successful candidate will work as part of the MLTC CFS Team in providing direct services in family support, and prevention/protection to children and their families.  He/she will be sensitive, compassionate and professional in all areas relating to CFS Program needs, issues and concerns.  He/she will apply a holistic approach to individual, family, and community healing/development by honoring and being knowledgeable about the inner-connectedness of the emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical aspects.  He/she will also oversee the development/implementation of prevention, child protection, and family support service initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

-    The applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Indian Social Work.
-    Must have relevant course work in family related studies, child and youth development, child maltreatment/abuse, solution focused therapy, family systems theory, attachment disorder, substance abuse issues, etc.
-    They must be knowledgeable in the dynamics of child abuse/neglect, family violence, addictions, poverty, and oppression.  
-    They must possess knowledge of child/community development and be able to formulate/document family assessments, case plans, program plans, etc.  
-    They must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and personal wellness.
-    They must be willing to work flexible hours, experienced in computer applications, and have excellent communication skills.
-     Having child protection experience and the ability to speak/understand Dene is a definite asset.
