FAMILY HEALTH WORKER
APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE POSITION OF A FULL TIME FAMILY HEALTH WORKER FOR THE ATHABASCA HEALTH AUTHORITY COMMUNITY OF FOND DU LAC IN SASKATCHEWAN.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Community Services, the Family Health Worker will provide integrated and comprehensive services to children and families within the Athabasca Basin. The Family Health Worker is responsible for a variety of functions including on-going intensive support services, primarily through home visits to assigned families, prenatal and/or pregnant woman.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Early Childhood Development Certificate or Diploma is preferred. Other related education and/or experience will be considered.
- Ability to speak Dene considered an asset.
- Knowledge of cultural values and practices within the communities.
- Positive attitude.
- Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
- Awareness of challenges common to high-risk families.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Search.
OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION:
- Starting wage $19.56 / hour, depending on education, training and qualifications
- Located in Fond du Lac. Housing is not provided.
- Working hours 08:30 am - 05:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
