The main goal of Construction Careers Regina is to connect participants to jobs and careers in the construction and industrial trades. SIIT is seeking a qualified individual for full-time term employment as a Job Coach. The position includes the following accountabilities:
Take a lead role in participant assessment, evaluation and management
Develop and maintain a close connection with potential employers in the Regina area
Develop and maintain a close connection with Career Centre participants and assist in their development as construction/industrial trades workers
Work with employees and employers to bridge employment barriers
Assist skilled and unskilled workers to find employment on trades and industrial worksites
Refer participants to potential employers and/or training opportunities
Provide advice and motivation to participants regarding employment and training
Monitor clients who become employed and provide support for any job-related challenges that may arise
Enter client information into the database and develop reports as required

Required Qualifications and Experience: Journeyperson certification in a construction trade is preferred. Consideration will be made for applicants with related technical post-secondary certification plus extensive work experience and knowledge in the construction industry. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills are required, including the ability to speak knowledgably and confidently with job site lead hands, supervisors and project managers. Knowledge of a First Nations cultures and organizations is an asset. Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license as travel may be required.
