ACCOUNTING CLERK

Position Overview:
The City of Prince Albert is currently inviting applications for a permanent Accounting Clerk position in our Financial Services Department. Accounting Clerks will provide excellent customer service to our citizens while performing a variety of accounting tasks related to utilities and services, taxation, A/P, A/R, and Payroll.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cash handling, such as receipting, depositing, balancing, counting and miscellaneous sales.
- Creating and maintaining records through accurate data entry, checking, posting and balancing.
- Preparation of documents such as requisitions, invoices, billings, statements, and journal entries.
- Attending to inquiries in person, on the telephone and by written communication.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Certificate in a business related program from a recognized college/university.
- Training and experience in Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of basic accounting theories, principles and practices.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and data entry with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to deal effectively with the general public.
