POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the chief engineer, maintenance in the maintenance engineering department, your knowledge of equipment and mechanical design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations. Additionally, you will supervise a team of maintenance technologists and provide technical design and planning expertise for capital and expense projects on site.
You will maximize equipment availability, reliability and performance through effective problem solving and maintenance practices. In addition, you will be responsible for document management and quality control to meet site and department objectives.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
Seven to 12 years of relevant industry experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Experience in supervision of technical personnel
Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Training and experience in reliability engineering programs, including FMEA, RCM, TQM, etc.
Experience in an underground mining environment
Front line maintenance support or supervision experience
