Description

The Autism Resource Centre offers therapeutic summer programs for children, youth, and adults with ASD.
QUALIFICATIONS:    
Applicants must have excellent communication skills. An interest in and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an asset.
Adaptable and energetic personalities to keep up with the demands of the client and the schedule of events. Ability to swim as it is part of the daily schedule. Training and orientation will be provided.
DUTIES:    
1. Carry out the clients individualized program plan on a one-to-one consistent basis and the daily scheduled events as planned by the ARC directors.
2. Complete and read the communication notes to and from the client(s) caregiver(s) on a daily basis. Also gather and record data on specific client goals.  
3. Adhere to the ARC confidentiality contract.
4. Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
5. Ensure client safety by following the policies and procedures for client safety during all program activities.  
6. Maintain a level of professionalism at all times in the manner in which you address clients and colleagues, in your appearance, and behaviour.
7. To be successful in this role a University/College education in a related field (e.g. social work, psychology, education, kinesiology) is an asset.
TERMS:    
1.Require a consistent commitment to working Monday to Friday from 8:45 am -3:15 pm from July 6 - August 26, 2016. Training is mandatory for all staff and will take place the week of July 4, 2016.
2.  A vehicle is an asset to this position.  Third party liability insurance is required for workers driving in the program.  Staff are reimbursed $0.40/km for driving.  
3. A Police Records Check is required and needs to be submitted before start date of employment. First Aid and CPR B Certification is recommended.
