Continuing Care Assistant Instructor, La Ronge

The Continuing Care Instructor will be responsible for delivering the Continuing Care Assistant curriculum to adult students registered in the course. Courses of instruction include, but are not limited to; Assisting with Special Procedures; Body Systems; Dementia Behavior; Dementia Family Care; End of Life Care; Food Safety; Helping Skills; Human Growth and Development; Interpersonal Communications; Nutrition; Observing, Reporting and Recording; Personal Care; Personal Competence; Post-Acute Care; Professional Assault Response Training; Safe Environment; Special Needs; and Transferring Lifting Repositioning. Additional duties include; classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting reports on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.

The minimum qualifications/requirements for this position are; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing; Registered Nurse Certification; two (2) years of experience in gerontology, home care, and special care education; and strong instructional, communication and interpersonal skills. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
