Description

Duties and responsibilities:
Under the direction of Certified personnel, the Orthotic Technician In Training assists in the fabrication, adjustment and repair of orthotic appliances to meet client requirements.
Duties include:
- Fabricate, adjust and repair orthoses to meet instructions of certified staff and prescription requirements.
- Operate and use department equipment, tools, materials and components.
- Develop knowledge of procedures, inventory, components, supplies and materials in the field of Orthotics.
- Assist in the maintenance of appropriate client file and department statistical, inventory and caseload documentation.
- Support production goals to ensure timely customer service.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 with university entrance requirements (maths, sciences) preferred.
- Experience in the operation of power and hand tools including saws, grinders, drills, sewing machines, etc.
- Good hand skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with a variety of people and serve a diverse customer base.
- Basic knowledge of tools and characteristics of materials used in a manufacturing process with the ability to fabricate a finished product following instructions.

The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record check including a vulnerable sector search
