Description

We are currently seeking a Planning Manager for our Brandt Engineered Products Division located in Regina, SK.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and drive the planning  department as one uniform team
- Lead and drive lean initiatives within the planning department
- Work closely with Project Managers, Shop Management, Engineering, Customer Service, and Purchasing to accurately plan the short term and long term production for the factory while ensuring on-time shipping to our customers
- Determine optimal manufacturing methods and routings for new and existing products
- Monitor actual production through the factory for adherence to the schedule and work with Shop Managers to ensure on-time shipping when anomalies arise
- Communicate with purchasing when products or components must be purchased or subcontracted to meet production requirements
- Prepare and release drawing packages, travelers, and bar codes, etc. outlining the product road map for manufacturing
- Own the factory schedule and measure the on-time deliveries to a prescribed target
- Continually evaluate practices and processes while developing and implementing improvements which lower manufacturing and operating costs
- Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

- 10+ years working in a Manufacturing environment
- Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and be able to lead by example
- Factory floor hands-on experience and a strong working knowledge of steel fabrication, machining, and assembly practices
- Knowledge of industrial equipment as well as extensive experience in scheduling and planning of products through a custom manufacturing facility
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Ability to work well under pressure and pull the team together to meet deadlines
- Maintain a positive attitude and lead a manufacturing department in a positive manner
