Maternal Child Health/FASD Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator

The MLTC Health & Social Development Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Maternal Child Health/FASD Multi-Disciplinary Coordinator. This individual will play a fundamental role in supporting the MLFN MCH Home Visitors & one (1) FASD Mentoring Project;  will work with MCH Home Visitors and one (1) FASD Mentor to support First Nations' pregnant women and families with infants and young children who live on reserve to reach their health development; and will also provide coordination and monitoring to ensure that MLFN's MCH Home Visitors and the FASD Mentor are providing Home Visiting, Case Management and also increasing the collaboration of other programs.

Qualifications,  Skills & Knowledge:

- Education at a post-secondary level in a relevant field such as Nursing, Education, Early Childhood Education, etc.  
- Combinations of other education and work experience will be considered such as: two (2) year Health Care Administration Diploma; CHR Certificate; and/or 3 years work experience in Paraprofessional role.
- Certified FASD Asset Mapping Trainer; Knowledgeable in FASD programming.
- Experience with Health Promotion and Disease/Injury Prevention initiatives.
- Knowledgeable in prenatal/postnatal health and education and a thorough understanding of healthy childhood development.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, administration, report writing, information management and evaluation techniques.
- Excellent report writing skills with demonstrated ability in research, written / verbal communication, and computer data processing.
- Will maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Knowledge and understanding of aboriginal culture, language, traditions, beliefs and practices within First Nation organizations and communities; ability to speak Cree/Dene is a valuable asset.
- Must have valid driver's license and able to travel extensively.
