Our client, a well-respected construction firm, specializing in commercial construction projects, is searching for a qualified, proven Project Manager to join their team.
Reporting to the Manager of Construction Operations/ Vice President Construction, the Project Manager must deliver quality, best value construction projects by:
1.    Providing support to site activities and superintendents with planning, directing , scheduling and coordinating of company resources (labour, equipment, materials, trade contractors)
2.    Ensuring administrative contractual obligations are fulfilled in accordance with contract documents
3.    Maintaining cost effective, mutually beneficial relations with sub-trades and suppliers
4.    Maintaining mutually beneficial relations with clients / architects
5.    Monitoring and reporting on project costs
6.    Preparing project estimates on an 'as required' basis
Qualifications Required:
Academic:
    An AScT Certification in Civil, Architectural, or Construction Engineering, or
    A diploma or certification in any of the following is considered an asset: Quantity Surveyor, Construction Management, or Project Management
Previous  Experience:
1.    Minimum 5 years experience conducting project mgmt. in commercial const.
2.    Doing project mgmt. & delivering best value support for projects ranging up to $10 million
3.    A good record in coordinating change orders and in addressing unforeseen problems with sub-trades and suppliers
4.    Developing and maintaining partnership-style, win-win relationships with clients and architects
5.    Doing estimating on smaller projects.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
