Description

The Recplex Day Care requires a Child Care Centre Cook to carry out the preparation of food for the children and staff, work as part of a team with the early childhood educators.  The cook must treat every child with respect and be aware of all children with food allergies.

Duties:
Plan menus and prepare nutritious meals and snacks following Canada's food guide
Shopping for supplies/groceries
Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen and pantry
Wash and sanitize all utensils and items used in food preparation
Routine cleaning of kitchen appliances stove, refrigerator, dishwasher
Wash towels and clothing as necessary
Willing to prepare for cooking activities with children
Adher to food safety standards at all times
Required at times to help educators in providing high quality childcare to the children

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Food Safe Certificate
First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain
Willingness to take classes towards ECE Level 1
Valid Driver's license and own a reliable vehicle
Experience working and/or cooking in a childcare centre an asset
Criminal Record Check  will also be required.
