Description

Duties and responsibilities:
At the Saskatchewan Abilities Council we believe in working together to provide innovative programs and services to meet the individual needs of our participants. Duties include:
-    Support individuals as required in order to increase socialization, peer support, and community inclusion
-    Provide direction and guidance in everyday schedules and activities within the Day Program
-    Provide support to individuals in the areas of life skills, meal and snack preparation, baking, etc.
-    Assist the Summer Fun Program Coordinator with programming for school aged children  when required
-    Assist with small group recreational and leisure activities both on and off-site
-    Interact with individuals to create meaningful relationships based on mutual interests

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Student continuing in full-time secondary or post secondary education in Kinesiology, Education, Recreational Therapy, Social Work or related disciplines
-    Preference will be given to candidate with valid First Aid and CPR certificate
-    Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office programs
-    Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and working vehicle
Experience:
-    Experience working with individuals with varying abilities preferred
-    Excellent communication, engagement, and organizational skills
Skills:
-    Innovation and creative thinking skills
-    Effective time management and problem solving skills
-    Ability to effectively lead individuals in a group or individual setting

The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks
