GasBuddy is looking for data scientists to join a team dedicated to providing the ultimate experience for our members. You will use your quantitative skills and insights on an incredibly robust set of consumer data and you will see your results influence the direction of our products and, ultimately, GasBuddy.

Our ideal candidate relishes being able to: dig into data that explains critical behaviors, build loyalty models and test new ideas, explore and generate insights to drive the decisions that will grow our products.

Responsibilities

-Combine your love and knowledge of quantitative data analysis across very large data sets with solid presentation skills to make data make sense.
-Partner with product, marketing, user experience, and engineering teams to identify, define, and solve problems and implement decisions.
-Make proposals about what to build next on the roadmap.
-Build models of user behaviors to help drive understanding of our member ecosystem.
-Design A/B tests and experiments within the product and synthesize the results into actions

Requirements

-3+ years of quantitative analysis
-BA/BS in computer science, math, physics, -engineering, statistics, economics, game theory, finance, or other technical field with greater consideration to advanced degrees
-Experience with SQL or other programming languages.
-Experience with a scripting language like R, --Python, PERL, Ruby or PHP.
-A self starter who requires minimal guidance
-Understanding of statistical analysis and methods
-Preferred experience with R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, Matlab or similar
-Please have something that youve built that youre proud to show off
