Description

GasBuddy is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA), who will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. They will also be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

Responsibilities

-Architect, implement, administer, monitor, tune, backup, migrate, and support business databases
-Writing queries, and optimizing stored procedures
-Performance, integrity, and security of databases
-Development of database utilities and reporting
-Analysis of capacity and performance requirements for optimal efficiency
-Restore and recover databases
-Consistently deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner while adhering to best practices, and strong attention to detail
-Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications
-Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements, evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products

Requirements

-Bachelors degree or diploma in computer science or equivalent
-Has 3+ years of DBA experience
-Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2014)
-Possesses significant knowledge of complex databases as well as the implications of different database designs
-Strong working knowledge of the four basic SQL statements, indexes, joins, stored procedures, triggers, views, cursors, and performance tuning
-Possesses the ability to write a single query in a multitude of ways to achieve the best possible performance
-Generates enthusiasm and effective interaction among team members
-Sets high standards for performance and ones self, strives for excellence
-Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas verbally in a clear, concise manner
