Description

Saskatoon Health Region is seeking applications for a Pediatric Hematologist within the Department of Pediatrics.  The position will comprise of a mixture of clinical service and academic pursuits in Pediatric Hematology. A special interest in the care of benign hematology patients will be an asset.  The applicant should also have a strong interest in contributing to specialized Pediatric Hematology services in an academic pediatric department.  Duties will include clinical service delivery, teaching and research.  Clinical duties will include pediatric hematology consultative work in both the inpatient and ambulatory setting.   The successful candidate will initially work at Royal University hospital and then transition to the new Saskatchewan Childrens Hospital once it is completed.  The successful applicant will be supported in developing a research program in clinical and/or translational research depending upon the qualifications and interests of the successful applicant.
Interested applicants must hold an MD, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, have completed residency training in Pediatrics and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.  See the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for more information on various routes of credentialing (http://www.royalcollege.ca/public/credentials/routes).
