Description

Full Time-One year Term
Requirements: Early Childhood Diploma (level III) considered an asset but willing to consider applicants with their Early Childhood Certificate (level II) and level I. Applicants must be willing to complete their Early childhood education, if not a level III. Applicants must have first aid and CPR level C and they must provide an updated criminal record check as well as a TB test.

Job Description:

Employee Relations:
* Identifying and addressing staffing needs
* Achieving high quality programming in each room at the centre
* Scheduling staff including time off requests, shifts, and breaks
* Managing staff conflicts
* Ensure cleaning duties are met and shared equally
* Hold and conduct monthly staff meetings
* Planning, implementing, ensuring excursions are carried out within the centre
* Ensure staff are meeting educational requirements
* Recognizing & providing staff with professional development opportunities
* Place employee ads with newspaper/job bank/SIAST when required
* Oversee Administrator Director
* Filling in as needed on the floor/ ie: short staffed, covering breaks, prep time
* Keeping administrator and floor supervisor current on all issues
* Work with administrator to ensure children/parent files are updated
* Interview, hire, and evaluate employees

Family Relations:
* Identifying and addressing parent needs
* Taking parent payments
* Children's schedules including EA and inclusion children & aides
* Enrolling families into the centre and ensuring enrollment is kept up as best as possible
* Newsletter/ parent correspondence
* Strive to make parents feel comfortable with the centre

Board Relations:
* Attend all board meetings
* Work in co-operation with a 12 member board
* Implement the policies and procedures set by the Board
* Provide a report on the status of the centre to the Board at each Board meeting and to the membership annually.

Experience preferred, but willing to train.

Other responsibilities as assigned.
