Facility: COMMUNITY/PUBLIC HEALTH EAST
Job Description: The incumbent is accountable for the provision of direct clinical mental health and addictions services with a primary focus on youths who are involved in the criminal justice system. These services will include individual, group and family counseling, case management, and public education.  The position is part of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of psychiatric nurses, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists and functions within the practice principles of the mental health and addiction services program management.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
TRAINING, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Education:    
Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Indian Social Work from an accredited University that includes education aimed at theories of counseling and communication skills.

Experience:
A minimum of one year experience providing clinical services to children, youth and families.
Experience with youth involved with the criminal justice system is preferred.

Other:    
Current or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers
Knowledge of relevant provisions of the Mental Health Services Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Child and Family Services Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong clinical skills and theoretical knowledge with respect to the assessment, treatment, and management of youths with clinically significant impairments in cognition, mood and behavior.
- Ability to integrate these theoretical concepts into practice by utilizing evidence-based models of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the treatment of men
