Description

On behalf of our client, a well known and extremely reputable law firm, we are searching for a Litigation Legal Assistant to provide primary legal assistant support to supervising lawyers and coverage for other assistants periodically.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Typing, editing and sometimes drafting various documents from voicemail, email and dictation: civil and family law pleadings; prenuptial agreements; motions; statements of claim; documents disclosures; and briefs
Scheduling client appointments
Responding to client calls as well as transcribing
Entering lawyer's billing time
Monthly client billing
Organizing/coordinating lawyer's schedule
Maintaining large files in an up-to-date manner
Coordinating and maintaining tax enforcement file
And performing other related duties
EDUCATION:

Graduation from high school as well as having graduated from a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program and/or will have sufficient related experience working in a law firm or other applicable areas.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

The successful applicant must have 2 years of experience, a high degree of accuracy, prioritization and organizational skills. Expertise in Word as well as knowledge of accounting procedures required. Interpersonal skills including patience, diplomacy, tact, discretion, and professionalism are required. The ability to exercise sound judgment is essential. The ability to defuse emotional situations is a definite asset.
