A position is available for an Estimator/Draftsperson.  As a primary contact for customers of our Construction operation, this position also provides support to the President and will assist in the efficient operation of our building and construction processes.  The objective of this position is to procure projects through estimating and tenders, and provide drawings for design/build projects as well as ongoing work.
Responsibilities include:
-calculate estimates for new construction, renovation and repair projects
-be adept at quantity survey and blueprint reading
-assist the Project Manager in co-ordinating and expediting materials needed for the project in the volumes and margins required
-maintain a positive relationship with customers
-actively pursue new customers and opportunities
-communicate with suppliers and subcontractors
-prepare building and site drawings to be used on construction sites
-use computer aided design and drafting system (AutoCAD) to prepare drawings
-work with design/build clients to develop preliminary plans and layouts
Our successful applicant will:
-conduct preliminary pursuit of design build projects with new and existing clients and complete accurate estimates for competitive tenders and negotiated work

-accurately convey clients' design concepts to consultants and construction team
