Job Description:
Satisfy nutritional needs of residnts and following a therapeutic meal plan
Prepare meals while adhering to legislative requirements for safe preparation of food
Serve meals with an appealing plate presentation
Follow proper infection control practices and good personal hygiene pratices
monitor food costs, managing waste, controlling inventory, etc
Provides guidance for Food Services Workers in the preparation and service of mealsw to the residents
interact with residents, families and staff in a pleasant, respectful manner

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, abilities and experience:
ability to read and write English as well as to understand verbal and written instructions in English
Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
Demonstrates concern and interest in providing qualilty care to residents.
Possesses sufficient practical experience to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of the position.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to communicate with other staff, residents, families and the public.
Demonstrated regular attendance at work.
Grade 10.
Basic computer skills, where required by the job.
Ability to work independently
Journey Person Cook Certificate (Red Seal) or equivalent
Food Safe Certificate
