The YMCA Child Development Centre - Downtown location - is seeking a professional, mature, energetic, responsible, and committed person to join our team in a full time Educator position. This location provides care for children aged 18 months to 6 years. Successful candidates will enjoy a full family membership to the YMCA Fit Centre including all registered classes, as well as a comprehensive benefits package after 3 month probationary period.
CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO FACILITATE ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT.
Some duties include (but not limited to):
- Planning developmentally appropriate and
stimulating activities in a play-based environment
- Participating in physical activities
- Encouraging child-led activities through
carefully chosen equipment and toys
- Teaching children the values of caring,
honesty, respect, responsibility, and
inclusiveness towards all living things
- Cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing
- Assisting in kitchen(cooking and cleaning)
duties as needed
Requirements:
- ECE Level 2, or 3, or other
relevant education-Level 1 may be considered for the right applicant.
- Related experience is an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current clear Criminal Record Check in the
vulnerable sector/Clear Child Welfare/Child Abuse check
- Current clear TB test
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- First Aid Certificate
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
Work Setting
- Child care centre
Security and Safety
- Criminal record check (abstract)
