Description

This position is under the general direction of the Facilities Manager and is required to carry out the general duties and responsibilities in the Field House.  As part of the Recreation Dept. team, this position will be required to assist in other facilities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities;

General caretaking & cleaning duties
Perform minor building repairs and maintenance
Supervision of patrons using the facility
Snow cleaning of sidewalk and main entrance.
Weekend work & shifts that may vary
Must be able to meet deadlines for facility preparation
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Grade XII or experience and qualifications deemed acceptable by the City
Knowledge & experience in janitorial services
Knowledge & experience in mechanical, plumbing & building maintenance an asset
Experience/training in carpentry, painting & building repairs an asset
Excellent communication skills in order to establish good public relations with public & staff
Excellent physical health
WHMIS, First Aid/CPR an asset or must obtain within 6 months
Must be a team player with good problem solving skills

Salary & Benefits:

$19.90/hr per CUPE Agreement.
8 hour day; shift & weekend work required.
Employment benefits per City policy.
