FCL invites applications for the position of Deli Prepared Foods Category Manager in our Home Office located in Saskatoon, Saskatoon.
Under the guidance of the Deli/Prepared Foods Category & Operations Manager, this position will provide input to the Marketing Department for the centrally planned Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) weekly flyer. They will provide items that are competitively priced and appealing to the consumer, and develop and execute category plans for the CRS. The primary responsibility of this position is in the areas of product assortment and marketing. The Deli Prepared Foods Category Manager will work closely with Retail Pricing Specialists to ensure plan-o-grams and pricing strategies match Deli Category Development team initiatives. This position will manage all vendor interaction, collaboration, and negotiations, achieve all budgets for deli prepared foods products including Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) revenue budgets and volume rebates. The Deli Prepared Foods Category Manager will work with deli vendors on item selection and forecasts to reduce shortages to the retail and maximize sales potential. They will collaborate with the Store Brands Manager to develop Private Label products and negotiate pricing for these products. In collaboration with the Culinary Innovation Manager and Deli Operations & Product Specialist, they will conduct taste panels for potential Private Label products, and cooking and preparing of these products. The Deli Prepared Foods Category Manager will work with Logistics to forecast volumes of products into FCL warehouses as well as marketing these items. Occasional travel required.
