FCL invites applications for the position of Processed Meat/Frozen Category Manager in our Home Office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Under the guidance of the Meat/Seafood Category & Operations Manager, the Processed Meat/Frozen Category Manager will provide input to the Marketing Department for the centrally planned Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) weekly flyer. They will provide items that are competitively priced and appealing to the consumer, and develop and execute category plans for the CRS. The primary responsibility of this position is in the areas of product assortment and marketing. The Processed Meat/Frozen Category Manager works closely with Retail Pricing Specialists to ensure plan-o-grams and pricing strategies match Meat Category Development team initiatives. They will manage all vendor interaction, collaboration, and negotiations, achieve all budgets for processed and frozen meat including Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) revenue budgets, volume rebates, and margin subsidy budget. The Processed Meat/Frozen Category Manager will work with meat vendors on item selection and forecasts to reduce shortages to the retail and maximize sales potential and collaborate with the Store Brands Manager to develop Private Label products and negotiate pricing for these products. In collaboration with the Culinary Innovation Manager and Meat Operations & Product Specialist, they will conduct taste panels for potential Private Label products, and cooking and preparing of these products. Work with Logistics to forecast volumes of products into FCL warehouses, as well as marketing these items. Occasional travel required.
