Brightwater Senior Living of Moose Jaw, a stunning new 79 suite Personal Care and Memory Care community currently under construction is seeking dependable individuals for the Kitchen Assistant position. Responsibilities include assisting in food preparation, washing dishes, sanitizing and cleaning kitchen, bussing tables, assisting with portions of serving meals, and recording water temperatures.
Age requirements: Must be at least 18 years old
Able to speak and write in English
Dishwashing Skills
- Scour pots and pans
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
- Operate pot-washing machines
- Clean and polish silverware
- Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
Essential Skills
- Oral communication
- Working with others
- Problem solving
- Job task planning and organizing
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- WHMIS
- Food Safe Certificate
Counter Attendant and Food Preparer Skills
- Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
- Take customers' orders
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars
- Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
- Portion and wrap foods
- Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
Kitchen Helping Skills
- Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
- Sharpen kitchen knives
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Handle and store cleaning products
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Sweep and mop floors
Bussing Skills
- Set tables
- Replace linen
- Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
- Load buspans and trays
- Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
- Assist food and beverage servers in formal service activities
