Description

As a member of the MJHA Tenant Services team, the Activity Worker: Family Tenants is responsible for coordinating the development, delivery and monitoring effectiveness of programs and services for family tenants and other client groups of the Moose Jaw Housing Authority.

The position is based at the Moose Jaw Housing Authority business office, and the position requires the incumbent to work in other MJHA buildings and in the community.  The Activity Worker: Family Tenants may be required to work undefined hours including some evenings and weekends.

This is a temporary, full-time position with regular hours as per the current CBA.

Education/Experience:
-High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus one (1) year experience in the human services field, or
-an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated abilities:
-knowledge and/or experience in working with typical tenants and client groups;
-to work effectively in a team environment;
-successful delivery of group programs;
-work collaboratively with low-to-moderate income families and an awareness of the challenges facing that particular demographic group;
-knowledge of, and familiarity with, non-profit, community-based and social organizations in the city of Moose Jaw;
-good interpersonal, behavioural and problem-solving skills;
-using computerized software programs, such as: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Internet applications; familiar with general office procedures and equipment;
-worked with and/or supervised volunteers.

Other Requirements:
-Have a reliable vehicle for daily use and a valid drivers license
-Co-ordinate fund-raising activities (e.g. grant funding applications, etc.);
-assist tenants with the completion of MJHA forms and documents;
