Description

McKercher LLP, a full service law firm with over 50 lawyers is seeking a Foreclosure Legal Assistant in its Regina office.  You will be assisting lawyers and clients as they work through legal proceedings, including providing assistance with document preparation and administrative functions.  This position involves working under tight time schedules and on numerous files at any given time.

Your required skills and knowledge include
-Handling and prioritizing workload independently
-Creating correspondence and finalizing legal documents using WordPerfect
-Fielding and attending to telephone inquiries
-Maintaining on-line presence with clients on dedicated websites
-Scheduling chamber appointments and maintaining court filing deadlines
-Preparing monthly professional services invoices
-Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers, other team members, and clients
-Possessing strong analytical and interpersonal skills
-Exercising independent judgment and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

To be successful in the role, you have:
-A minimum of 5 years experience in a legal assistant environment with considerable experience in the area of foreclosure.  
-Advanced PC skills including knowledge of WordPerfect, Excel, and Outlook along with the ability to learn other firm-specific software
-Excellent proofreading skills
-The ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative when necessary
-A willingness to learn and contribute to the team
