This position is responsible for supporting breeding and pathology activities throughout the field season.
Principal Accountabilities:
50% Collaborate with the pathology technician on inoculum preparation, field/chamber inoculations and disease ratings
20% Collaborate with breeding technician to coordinate and execute on nursery plot maintenance, selfing and harvest. This includes leading a team of high school students and ensuring quality control
15% Seed set-up support
15% Coordinate with breeder and breeding technician on data collection from nursery and yield trials
Required Qualifications:
- valid drivers license
- good interpersonal skills
- ability to lead a group
- attention to detail
- ability to work outdoors for whole day
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agriculture related field experience
- B.Sc. in plant science or biology related field
