Description

The Saltcoats & District Daycare is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. Children learn primarily through play, thrive on positive feedback and deserve a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

-Understand and maintain Ministry of Education Regulations.

-Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and explore

-Maintains a clean and healthy workplace according to public health standards

-Fosters team work and open communication.

-Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, board members and co-workers.

-Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities and special events

-Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music

-Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers

-Coordinate all staff scheduling and enrollment of children

-Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest times

-Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children

-Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings

Qualifications

-Current CPR/First Aid

-TB test results

-Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable sector

-ECE Certification, or willingness to obtain (funding may be available)

-Knowledge of Emergent Curriculum is an asset
