Description

Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic candidate to organize, plan and run an effective Outdoor Education/ Archery program for children aged 6 to 13. Prior to the camping season, the Outdoor Ed./ Archery instructor is in charge of creating and submitting a program plan, as well as ordering any required materials within the provided budget. The program will be organized to provide a creative experience for children to learn about skills related to the outdoor camping, as well as the nature that surrounds us while we are out at Camp Monahan. They will also have the opportunity to teach the campers archery skills and safety. During the summer, this position is responsible to planning up to five, one hour programs each day for various age groups. The days will rotate between archery and outdoor ed. The Outdoor Ed./ Archery Director will also work with camp counselors to manage and deal with any camp behaviors during the program and is expected to participate in all other camp activities including campfire, meals, group activities and staff meetings. Experience working with and/or teaching children are required as well as knowledge of the outdoors, archery, and camping related skills. An up to date First Aid/ CPR certificate and a love of children, nature and camp life are considered assets.
