If you answered yes to all the above questions then this is the position for you. We are looking for a personal care aide for male quadriplegic in east Regina. You will be my arms and legs and assisting me to live my best life. You will be coming into my home and will be working with all the latest technology and equipment making it a safe and inviting work environment. This is a back-up role for the existing care team. Four to eight shifts/month will be required to stay familiar with job duties. (For example: Tues & Thurs from 7 P.M. to 10 P.M., Fri from 7:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.) Depending on availability more hours could arise. This position is ideal for someone who is retired or is self-employed on a part time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting with exercise and range of motion.
Assist with dressing and undressing.
Transfer, using ceiling track, between bed, wheelchair and commode.
Positioning in bed.
Help with shower, brushing teeth and brushing hair.
Getting clothes out for the next day
Assist with self-catheterization.
Bowel care.
Meal preparation.
Clean and tidy up after performing other duties.
Other personal care & light duties as directed.
Be respectful of the client and the households.
Occasional traveling away from home.
Assisting in the community
