Job Description: Reporting under the EMS portfolio the EMT-P (Advance Care Paramedic) will provide quality patient care within health care facilities in the Cypress Health Region.  This position will assess and appropriately treat all patients, ensure respect, confidentiality and integrity and ensure that the standards and policies of the Cypress Health Region are employed at all times while working within a team environment.  This position is responsible to prepare and submit reports, clean and restock working areas and ensure a complete and thorough knowledge of all equipment, supplies and medications.
Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
CPR/AED Provider Certification
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP/EMT-P) level
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the ACP/EMT-P level
Experience
In healthcare is an asset
In Emergency planning is considered an asset
Instructors Certificates also an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement

Shifts consist of 1900-0700
The Cypress Health Region is embarking on a new method of delivering emergency services within its health region and community hospitals.  This new delivery of emergency care is based on the model of Collaborative Emergency Centers. The model cosists of ACPs and RNs working collaboratively in an emergency room setting with medical oversight by telephone.
