Description

The Department of Indigenous Studies at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a full-time, tenure-stream faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This will be an Academic Programming (AP) appointment with duties focused primarily on teaching. This position is responsible for engaging in collaborative and interdisciplinary development and teaching of an Indigenous university level curriculum to a diverse student body. Applicants will normally have a PhD in Indigenous Studies or a relevant interdisciplinary PhD, although alternative credentials for an AP appointment may be considered where these are appropriate to the duties and expectations of the position.

We are seeking a scholar with experience in Indigenizing university curriculum, experiential learning, knowledge translation, developing and coordinating large first year classes, teaching, and working collaboratively with a wide range of university and community-based scholars. The successful candidate will collaboratively develop and teach first year courses in support of the departments degree program and the colleges Indigenous learning goal, along with other courses relevant to their content expertise. This position requires a candidate capable of fostering partnerships and collaborations with other academic units, with a demonstrated commitment to Indigenous community engagement, and a willingness to engage in the collegial activities of the Department and the College of Arts and Science.
