Summer Student Job Summer Student Job

Description

Are you looking for a rewarding summer term with one of the largest petroleum refining facilities in the country?  Are you interested in expanding your skills with a company that has a 81-year history of fueling the economic growth and prosperity of Western Canada?  If so, we want to hear from you.

The main focus of this program is to provide power engineering students with real work experience and simulation of the Process Operator position at the CRC. Students will be responsible for supporting and complying with CRCs safety and operations policies, procedures, and goals. They will also assist Process Operators as required under normal daily operating conditions and shadowing them as such that they learn the routine operation of the plant. Students will  assist with the recording and reporting of  temperatures, pressures, and flows within their assigned unit. In addition, they will be actively involved in the daily application of preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting.

Students will be trained in Safety requirements for the CRC as well as basic process operations. After initial training they will be assigned to a particular section to work alongside a process operator. This will allow the student to experience first hand what a process operator does and to assist when capable.

Candidates must be students who are pursuing a 3rd class diploma in Power Engineering Technology at a Technical College. Candidates must have the first year of Technical College complete and be  returning to school in the fall to complete their 3rd class steam ticket. Selected candidates must complete a drug and alcohol test, provide a criminal record and possess a valid drivers license.
