The full-time Graphic Designer works with the executives, management, and staff members to create, coordinate, and implement visual designs relating to URSU products, services, and clients, and promoting the Owl bar. These include all URSU election campaigns, referendums, by-elections, organizational programs, newsletters, annual reports, advertisements, and websites.
Education:
Undergraduate degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Marketing, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field
Technical school program in graphic design and/or web programming would be an asset
Some combination of training and experience in a Graphic and Web Design role is an essential asset
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of a Students' Union/University environment along with a strong knowledge of University demographic communication trends and student life
Strong design sense
Attention to detail, the ability to be creative, and strong editing and proofreading skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the English language
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and competent decision making ability
Strong organizational and time management skills
Expertise in all aspects of design, communication, and project management
Self motivation and the ability to take initiative and multitask
Experience:
At least two years previous experience in a communications and/or marketing capacity
Creative design ability and proficiency in standard design tool applications (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
