You will be responsible for providing overhead and underground electric utility design at our Regina location. Additionally, you will have opportunity provide technical mentorship to Junior Engineers and Technologists.
Job Duties:
Design of underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure (25kV & 14.4kV system voltages)
Lighting design and analysis using AGI32 simulation software
Electrical and mechanical engineering calculations for underground and overhead systems
Off-site meetings and site checks
Project estimating and material take-offs
Project schedule management and tracking
Design coordination with customers, municipal authorities, other utilities & various project stakeholders
Technical mentorship of Junior Engineers & Technologists
Technical review of designs produced by Junior Engineers & Technologists
Other duties as required
Desired Qualifications:
Engineering Diploma or Degree (Electrical preferred) from a recognized college or university
3 or more years of experience working in the electric utility or engineering consulting environment, with extensive experience in design and estimating of electrical distribution projects
Strong computer, problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficient English language skills
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to develop business relationships conducted in a professional manner
Strong collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with other disciplines (Marketing, Drafting, Construction, Survey) to ensure projects are accurate, compliant, on-time and on-budget
Experience with AutoCAD, Small World GIS, MS Office and distribution design software
Experience utilizing various CSA Standards and CEC would be considered an asset
Experience with PLS-CADD, CYME, or AGI32 would be considered an asset
Experience in natural gas design would also be considered an asset
Class 5 drivers license
