Description

The City of Humboldt invites applications for a full-time Community Development Coordinator in the Community Development & Communications Services Department.  

Reporting to the Director of Community Development & Communications Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the business/economic development and communications functions for the City.   This includes:

- assisting the Department Director in planning and coordinating various integrated communication, marketing and economic development activities;
- researching and compiling related economic development information;
- developing profiles of the community;
- managing related project work;
- helping create, coordinate, and supervise the production of a wide range of marketing materials and communications;
- writing and editing organizational content for print, radio, and online audiences;
- maintaining communication and liaising with stakeholders in order to convey concise, clear and timely information; and
- tracking and evaluating marketing and community development activities.

Candidates will have knowledge of research principles and techniques, computer proficiency (including spreadsheet, word processing, website and social media skills) and strong communication and organizational skills.  Graphic design expertise will be considered a strong asset.  Candidates will also be self-motivated, confident, demonstrate sound work ethics and work collaboratively with others as a team member.  

Additional qualifications include:

- Studies in Economic/Business Development, Marketing/Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field;
- Have related work and/or volunteer experience; and
- Possess a valid driver's license.

This position offers an annual out-of-scope salary range of $40,000  $45,000, a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to challenge your expertise in an evolving, growing community.
