Regina Youth For Christ is a mission organization dedicated to helping children and their communities, worldwide, reach their full potential by tackling causes of isolation and hopelessness. Motivated by our faith, we serve the youth in Saskatchewan - regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or gender - as a demonstration of God's unconditional love for all people.
Our Jeremiah home, which is designed to build into youth from 15-18 years old who need a place to live, grow and become independent. The objective of the live-in house parent/mentor is to provide stability, structure, relationship and guidance for the youth. Regina Youth For Christ requires all staff to be in agreement with their Statement of Faith and to continually fundraise to support the Ministry vision.
Duties required:
-Creating a welcoming social environment in the home.
-Maintaining a calm, grace filled environment in the home.
-Maintaining the inventory of all needed supplies for the home
-Building relationships with the youth while maintaining leadership
-Ensuring that Breakfast and the occasional evening dinner are available
-Cleaning and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the home,
-Assisting staff with implementing chores
-Daily communication and documentation
Skills required:
-Modeling healthy personal boundaries, for spiritual and emotional health.
-Keeping track of budgets for food, clothing and entertainment.
-Ability to budget and shop for groceries and supplies
-Ability to build and maintain relationships with youth
Logistics:
This is a live in position and private suite is on site for house parent/mentors residence. Singles or coupes, post-secondary students, or those with outside daytime employment are also welcome. Typically later evening and early morning hours are required (20+). Respite replacement is provided every second weekend.
