Temporary 6 month term position
Responsibilities
The Technical Writer works with Legacy Operations to provide ongoing support with documentation and technical writing. The Technical Writer will create, review, edit, and maintain technical training material including operations manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and other training materials.
The successful candidate will:
Work with Legacy Operations Area Trainers to develop maintenance and production training materials such as operations manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safe work practices (SWPs).
o Demonstrates understanding/knowledge of operational/maintenance areas, equipment, processes
o Analyzes operational/maintenance information and consolidates into a form that is easy to understand and apply.
Develop standard training manual template in accordance with company policies & procedures
Produce concise, accurate, complete and "easy-to-understand" technical and safety related documents
Set-up of a training documentation filing/folder structure
Assist when required with the development of future templates of operating procedures
Create and maintain a procedure audit schedule (including the frequency of updates and process of how the procedure will be updated)
Ensure corporate identity and graphic standards are adhered to in all publications created
Analyze content of procedure documents and forms for consistency
Review and correct errors in content and grammar, following prescribed editorial styles and formatting guidelines
Identify process improvements or system enhancements
Understand the change management process for procedures and practices
